The Call for National Character-Building

“As we stand at the threshold of the Amrit Kaal, our mission transcends traditional economic metrics. Viksit Bharat 2047 is not a mere government project; it is a national character-building exercise. – Prof. Ripu Ranjan Sinha.

To become a global benchmark, India must evolve from being a ‘developing market’ to a ‘civilizational leader.’

Our strategy is to replace the linear consumption model with a Circular Wisdom, where economic growth is inherently green, and our social fabric is enriched by the ‘Orange’ vibrancy of our creative and cultural heritage. We are not just building a $30 trillion economy; we are forging a future-ready nation of global citizens.”

Prof. Ripu Ranjan Sinha, Chairman, VBDF 2047

The complexity of a 1.4 billion-person democracy requires a centralized yet agile advisory and implementation body. VBDF 2047 is essential for three primary reasons:

  • Bridging the Policy-Execution Chasm: Traditional governance often suffers from “last-mile leakage.” The forum acts as the strategic glue connecting Union-level vision with state-level (28 states, 8 UTs) execution.
  • Multilateral Alignment: To ensure India is a global citizen, we must align with the UN SDGs 2030 and the African Union’s Agenda 2063. The forum manages these complex international synergies to ensure “South–South” cooperation.

To achieve holistic development, the forum has outlined a transition through four distinct but interconnected economic paradigms:

A. Economic to Circular (The Efficiency Shift)

We are moving away from the “Take-Make-Dispose” model.

  • Outcome: Waste-to-Wealth initiatives in 100+ smart cities, turning urban waste into industrial energy and raw materials.

B. Green into Orange Economy (The Value Shift)

India’s growth will be powered by the dual engines of sustainability (Green) and creativity/culture (Orange).

  • Green Economy: Scaling green hydrogen, solar grids, and regenerative agriculture.
  • Orange Economy: Monetizing India’s “Creative Capital”—our arts, heritage, digital content, and traditional knowledge.

Holistic Development Pillars & Outcomes

The path to 2047 is not linear. It requires a “Phygital” (Physical + Digital) approach where technology serves humanity. The VBDF 2047, under the leadership of Prof. Ripu Ranjan Sinha, will continue to serve as the intelligence nerve center, ensuring that India’s ascension is not just powerful, but also peaceful, sustainable, and inclusive.

India 2047 is not just a destination; it is our gift to the world.
